Terra View

A world map you can search, measure and mark up: any place, address or coordinate, the base layer you choose, and the shapes you draw kept on this device.

Terrain uses mapbox.mapbox-terrain-dem-v1 raster-DEM tiles, which require a Mapbox token.

Tool

Click to add points. Enter or double-click finishes, Backspace removes the last point, Esc cancels. Distances use the haversine formula on a sphere (R = 6371.0088 km); polygon area uses the spherical-excess method. Both are computed in-page, not fetched.

Imported GeoJSON

Terra View only shows layers it can genuinely render: your drawings, your waypoints, files you import, and basemap features supplied by the basemap provider. No third-party traffic, weather or aviation feeds are included.

Leg lengths are great-circle (straight-line) distances between stops, computed locally. They are not road or transit distances — no routing/directions service is called by this page.

Import / export

Import accepts a Feature, FeatureCollection, GeometryCollection or bare geometry. The map fits the imported bounds automatically. You can also drop a .geojson file straight onto the map.

Demo data

Demo Loads a small sample project (a walking loop, a park polygon and three markers around Charlottetown, PEI) so every panel can be exercised offline. The geometry is illustrative sample data drawn for this demo — not a survey, not a measurement of a real route.

Quick help

Terra View is a geospatial explorer: search places, switch basemaps, tilt into 3D terrain, measure distance and area, drop markers, and save the whole thing as a named project on your account.

Everything you draw stays yours — it is stored locally first and synced to your Feerebu account when you are signed in.

Mapbox token

Override token for this browser (optional)

The built-in token lives in one constant, MAPBOX_TOKEN, at the top of the script in apps/lifestyle/maps/map.html. An override typed here is kept only in this browser's localStorage.
